Privacy Policy

What Sploot collects, what it is used for, who sees it, and how to get it corrected or deleted.

Effective

TekTonix Consulting LLC (“we”, “us” or “our”) operates Sploot: the application and website at sploot.sh, and the hosting of apps at sploot-app.com (together, the “Service”). This Privacy Policy describes how we process personal information collected through the Service and through our communications with you.

Personal information we collect

Information you provide to us

  • Contact data: the email address you give the waitlist form (along with a tag recording which page of the site the form was on) or use with your account, and your name if you provide it.
  • Account data: what it takes to sign you in. If your company connects an identity provider such as Google Workspace or Okta, we receive your name and work email address from it.
  • Payment data: payment card details are collected and processed directly by our payment processor, not by us. We receive transaction records, such as the plan purchased, the amount, and when, but we do not store card numbers.
  • Your content: the code and apps you deploy and the data they store. We process it only to provide the Service.
  • Communications data: the contents of messages you send us, such as email to hello@sploot.sh, and our replies.

Information collected automatically

  • Device and usage data on the website: we use PostHog, an analytics service, to log the pages you visit, the links you use, the site you arrived from, and your browser and device type.
  • Service logs: sign-ins, deploys, and requests to the Service and to hosted apps. These power features like an app’s access list and last-opened time, and help us keep the Service secure and working.
  • Coarse location: our hosting provider tells us which country a request came from. On the waitlist form, your IP address is used transiently to rate-limit submissions and is not stored with your signup.

We do not collect government identifiers, precise geolocation, or sensitive personal information.

How we use personal information

  • To run the Service: operating the website, signing you in, building and running your apps, making them available to the people their owners authorize, maintaining the waitlist, and responding to your messages.
  • To bill you: processing payments, renewals, and refunds through our payment processor.
  • To contact you about Sploot: if you join the waitlist, we will email you about access and progress. Every such email includes a way to opt out.
  • To improve the Service: analytics tell us which pages are read and where visitors arrive from.
  • For compliance and protection: complying with applicable laws and lawful requests, enforcing our terms, and preventing fraudulent, harmful, or illegal activity.

We do not use your personal information for targeted advertising, we do not sell it, we do not use it to profile you, and we do not use it or your content to train AI models.

Cookies and analytics

The Service sets no third-party advertising cookies. What it does use:

  • Sign-in cookies: keeping you signed in, and keeping everyone who is not signed in out.
  • Analytics storage: PostHog keeps its random identifier in a cookie or your browser’s local storage so repeat visits are counted as one visitor.

You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings; the website works without them, though you cannot stay signed in without sign-in cookies. Because we do not sell or share personal information for targeted advertising, opt-out preference signals such as Global Privacy Control do not change how the Service treats you: there is no sale or sharing to opt out of.

How we share personal information

  • Service providers: companies that help us host and operate the Service, such as hosting and infrastructure providers, PostHog (analytics), and email delivery services. They may use the information only to provide their services to us.
  • Payment processors: your payment card information goes directly to our payment processor, which uses it in accordance with its own privacy policy.
  • People you authorize: apps and content you deploy are visible to the people granted access to them.
  • Professional advisors: lawyers, auditors, bankers, and insurers, in the course of the professional services they render to us.
  • Authorities and others: law enforcement, government authorities, and private parties, as we believe in good faith to be necessary or appropriate for the compliance and protection purposes described above.
  • Business transferees: in connection with an actual or prospective business transaction, such as an investment, financing, merger, or sale of assets, personal information may be disclosed to counterparties and their advisers, and transferred to a successor.

We do not share personal information with advertising partners, and we do not sell it.

Retention

We keep personal information for as long as it serves the purpose it was collected for, including satisfying legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. Account data is kept while your account is active. The waitlist keeps your email until you ask us to remove it or we no longer need it. When we no longer need personal information, we delete it, anonymize it, or isolate it from further processing.

Your choices

  • Opt out of email: use the unsubscribe instructions in any email we send, or write to hello@sploot.sh. Opting out of announcements does not stop service emails, like billing notices or replies to messages you send us.
  • Access, correction, and deletion: manage what you can from your account, and email hello@sploot.sh for the rest. This includes removing your address from the waitlist and closing your account.
  • Blocking analytics: browser settings and content blockers can prevent analytics from loading. The website works fine without it.
  • Declining to provide information: some information is required to provide parts of the Service. Without an email address we cannot add you to the waitlist or sign you in.

State privacy rights

This section applies to residents of U.S. states whose privacy laws apply to us and grant the rights described below (the “State Privacy Laws”). Not every right is available in every state, and we may decline a request where the law permits.

Your rights

  • Information and access: you can ask what categories of personal information we have collected, from what sources, for what purposes, and with whom it was shared, and request a copy of it.
  • Correction: you can ask us to correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Deletion: you can ask us to delete the personal information we have collected from you.
  • Appeal: you can appeal our denial of a validly submitted request.
  • Nondiscrimination: you are entitled to exercise these rights free from discrimination.

Practices the State Privacy Laws ask us to disclose

  • We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral or targeted advertising.
  • We do not use personal information for profiling or automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
  • We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information.
  • We do not have actual knowledge that we collect, sell, or share the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.
  • The categories we collect are the ones listed in “Personal information we collect” above (identifiers, transaction records, internet activity, coarse location, and the content you submit), from you and from automatic collection, for the purposes listed in “How we use personal information”, and disclosed only to the parties listed in “How we share personal information”.

Exercising your rights

Send requests to hello@sploot.sh. We verify requests by confirming you control the email address the request concerns; where the law permits, we may ask for additional information to confirm your identity or residency. An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf, but we may require proof of their authority and verification of your identity.

California

Under California’s Shine the Light law (Civil Code Section 1798.83), California residents may ask for the names of third parties to which we have disclosed certain personal information for those parties’ own direct marketing purposes. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. You may send questions about this to hello@sploot.sh with the statement “Shine the Light Request”.

Security

We employ technical, organizational, and physical safeguards designed to protect the personal information we collect. Security risk is inherent in all internet technologies, and we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information.

Where information is processed

We are based in the United States and use service providers that operate there. Your personal information may be transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may not be as protective as those where you live.

Children

The Service is not intended for anyone under 18 years of age. If you believe we have collected personal information from a child in a manner prohibited by law, contact us and we will delete it as applicable law requires.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may modify this Privacy Policy at any time. The dates in the header above record when the current version took effect and when it was last revised. If we make material changes, we will post a notice on the Service or email the addresses we have. Your use of the Service after a modified version takes effect means the modified version applies.
